January 2021 we are going to start reading The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday. It is a daily book so you only read one or two pages a day. Each days passage contains a quote and breakdown from one of the ancient stoics. This is a short daily reading, but it lasts all year long. This should be just the thing to get us motivated and thinking every single day.
The challenge for January is going to be to practice The Miracle Morning. We read this book a few months ago and I think it would be a great way for us to start off 2020. I will speak more to this later, but essentially what you do is start your day off right by practicing silence, affirmations, visualizations, exercise, reading, and scribing for a little bit each morning before 8am to start your day off right and be making constant progress no matter what else happens throughout your day.
Lastly, the skill I want to practice for January is productivity or making progress each day. For each day I want to highlight three tasks that will lead us in the direction we want to be moving in life. Once we identify three tasks it will be of utmost importance to complete these three tasks each day. This should really get the ball moving for us in 2020 and help us to cultivate the skill of following through and doing what matters each day.
I look forward to practicing all of these things with you and hope you will join me in another year in the pursuit of excellence. Let’s make 2021 leaps and bounds better than 2020 was!
