As you know the challenge for March was to go for a walk or to get some kind of exercise every day for 30 minutes. The challenge was also to get 30 minutes of sunlight every day. The best way to accomplish all of this was to go out into nature and walk or hike for 30 minutes a day. Everyday.
My experience with nature walks
I did this challenge most days. Although, admittedly I did miss a few days here and there. Some days I got my sunlight from tending my garden and also spent some time exercising separately. Other days I went on nature walks or ran in nature and let me tell you. It made a big difference in my overall mood and energy. It gave me a new appreciation for the beauty of nature and life in general. It helped me to detach from all the negative energy and busy things I have going on in my life. I found that this was sometimes a good time to reflect, but other times it felt better to just turn my brain off and be present while I enjoyed my surroundings.
Through doing this I noticed my mood was generally better and I felt more energy throughout the day. I especially enjoyed going on the walks in the morning when everything seems calmer and more at peace. I will definitely be continuing this habit.
I hope you participated in this challenge and if not there’s still time. It’s spring now and the flowers are blooming. So more than ever I encourage you to take up the habit of going on daily nature walks.
And at a very base level for your own mental and physical health make sure to get at least 30 minutes of some time of physical activity and 30 minutes of sunlight daily!
